A Corner Full of Candles – Soy Candles & Handmade Decor by Petunia’s Corner

I recently received a set of candles from the proprietor of Petunia’s Corner, Dina Ahne, in return for a review on my blog. Please note that compensation in the form of a “free” product does NOT effect my opinions in any way. I strive to provide 100% honest feedback about the products being reviewed.

Before actually receiving the candles, I took a look at the Petunia’s Corner Etsy Shop. Although, her focus is primarily on soy wax based candles, Dina also has some cool items, like vases and lamps made from upcycled materials. My focus is on the soy candles I received last week.

As you can see from the photos, my candles arrived like gifts, not your standard packaging just shoved in a box with a label slapped on it. They were packaged in simple brown boxes with paper shreds on the inside to keep them from becoming damaged during shipping. You can tell from the presentation alone that Ms. Ahne greatly cares about her product.

I received two candles, an 8 oz lemon verbena and a 4 oz coconut bourbon scented candle. The candles themselves smell amazing. The lemon verbena smells fresh and clean, while the coconut bourbon reminds me summer which seems so very far away right now. When the candles burn, they are no overwhelming, but rather leave the room with a light hint of fragrance. They do not have a Yankee Candle effect where you burned the sugar cookie candle you got for Christmas on a Wednesday and when your friends show up on Saturday they want to know if you where the cookies you baked are.

The candles from Petunia’s Corner are made with wax derived from organically grown beans, and very high quality phthalate free fragrance oils. Scents include creme brûlée, vanilla cardamom, lavender, sunflower, lemon verbena, coconut bourbon and teak bamboo. They are available in 8oz and 4 oz sizes and are all hand poured and made in very small batches.
