Creepy Peep-y Candy

Im 32 years old and I still get an Easter basket. Although, this year, I asked that my mom not fill my basket with sweet treats. I have no need for the extra calories or sugar rush. I will however declare, I do love Easter candy way more than Halloween candy.
There is very little that is unique about Halloween candy. Oh sure, there are Halloween shapes like bats and pumpkins and wrappers with orange and black coloring; but I can’t think of one candy that is only produced at Halloween time. Can you?
Easter has a lot more holiday specific candies: Cadbury Eggs, Jelly Beans, Peeps. You can only get these select candies for a limited time. One of my favorite Easter treats is something called “Eggums”. Eggums are a tiny plastic egg carton that contains 12 brightly colored, egg shaped gumballs. Many declare that peeps are their favorite Easter Candy but I find peeps really creepy and I don’t think they taste very good.
A few years ago my mom made a jello scene with peeps:

Easter Ducks on a Pond - (Peep Creep Dessert)

Blue jello, Sweedish fish (floating in the “water”) and peeps. It just re-affirms my “peep creep” feeling. My niece, who was only 2 1/2 at the time, thought it was more fun to play with than eat (and I agreed!) Here is a picture of my niece enjoying the peep-creep jello

More fun to play with than it is to eat!

Here’s wishing you a peep-creep free Easter!
